The renovation and decoration of this West Village railroad flat, completed in two phases, produced a luxuriously appointed pied-a-terre with defined spaces and maximum storage that defied its modest dimensions at 460 square feet. Among the upgrades that brought it into the 21st century were custom walnut cabinetry, pocket doors, marble countertops, mid-century furnishings, and a restoration of the fireplace, which reintroduced warmth to what was once a cold-water tenement.
